Job Description :

Application Developer/DBA will have strong experience working with database design and development, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. We are looking for someone who can analyze business requirements and translate them into efficient database designs, develop logic and implement them as per database architecture standards and guidelines. You will serve as liaison between application and system teams to develop, test, promote, improve, and maintain new and existing databases and programs. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and can work with a broad variety of stakeholders including business and technical teams. They should be able to investigate issues with the data and distil their findings to share with others. They will be expected to become experts in specific data domains across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively with business and IT to deliver database solutions, improve applications and establish best practices.

Translate business requirements into efficient and robust database design.

Develop database access and security solution: defining users, roles, privileges, encryption, and security(using AWS VPC, SSL, IAM etc.).

Write SQL queries, scripts, PL/pgSQL, PL/SQL functions, triggers to develop business rules in database on AWS platform.

Ingest data from different sources, write scripts for loading data incrementally and validating it (ETL) .

Create scripts to promote database changes to different environments and modify databases according to requests.

Work with application and System DBA to enhance database performance by identifying bottlenecks, tuning queries, and modifying database, system/network/parameters, and configurations.

Design database partitioning and archiving solution.

Research and investigate data issues. Develop a deep understanding of the relationship between business process, systems, and the underlying data

Present findings to stakeholders in a way that is intuitive and clear. This may be in a memo, through a dashboard or presentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or HS diploma/GED with relevant work experience.

High proficiency in writing SQL/SQL scripts/PLSQL/PLpgSQL/procedures/functions and triggers.

7+ years’ experience working with databases (Amazon Aurora Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server).

Experience working with RDS databases on AWS (preferably Postgres)

Preferred Qualifications:

ETL experience with Informatica

Experience with any programing languages such as C#, Java/Python/.Net. Must be able to both read & understand code

Experience with difference services in AWS (EC2, S3,RDS,ClodFront, SNS, Lambda etc)

Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment with Development and QA staff

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team with proven ability to influence with impact across functions and disciplines.

Ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines, identifying the necessary steps and moving forward through completion

Hiring Range*:

Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $104,700 – $151,300

All Other Locations (within approved locations): $94,700 – $140,845

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
