Business Development Associate

RxBenefits is adding to our growing Sales team! As a key member of the Commercial Excellence team, the Business Development Associate is responsible for helping generate new business for the company through targeted approaches and coordinated cross-selling strategies. He/she will work closely with industry sector leaders and marketing department colleagues to ensure an organized, holistic and client-focused strategy is developed and executed in expanding company relationships and service offerings. The Business Development Associate will also leverage personal referral, industry-based and other business community networks to help drive new business opportunities for the company. Approximately 10% travel within assigned territory is expected.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • 100% of time devoted to acquiring new self-insured group accounts through consultants/brokers in the 50-50,000 lives market segment. Working in a mostly virtual environment, work to achieve new business quota.
  • Leverage the company’s innovative pharmacy solutions to provide a consultative approach to client needs
  • Partnering with market development, aggressively prospect territory, acting as educator to consultants/brokers on pharmacy trends while fostering relationships for growth.
  • Develops and manages a proactive and organized sales process and pipeline, and tracks achievement against strategic objectives and business plan
  • Ensures close coordination and collaboration with marketing colleagues to promote integrated support to business development efforts
  • Provide ongoing pharmacy industry updates and training to benefit consultants and brokers establishing a trusted advisor role within their network
  • Gathers intelligence on emerging market and industry trends to provide leadership with an understanding of the competitive landscape and to position the company for increased effectiveness in winning new business.

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 2+ years of business development/sales/inside sales experience
  • Insurance/Employee Benefits/PBM/Pharmacy/Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred
  • Strong business acumen and an understanding of major industry sector trends.
  • Excellent presentation, communication (both written and verbal).
  • Interpersonal and leadership skills required to work closely senior executives on a routine basis.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound organizational abilities.
  • Ability to quickly develop rapport and gain respect at all levels of an organization.
  • Extensive experience and proven success with formulating, implementing and sustaining client development efforts, and in building/expanding client relationships.
  • Must be a self-starter and self-motivated, with a team oriented attitude.
  • Proven organizational skills and a history of teamwork
