General Purpose

The Card System Analyst is responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement and enhancements of card related systems and processes. They will implement card related projects and will work closely with IT, Project Management, and other business units to ensure the successful launch of new products and credit union initiatives. They will represent the card services area on all projects and will be considered the subject matter expert. They are responsible for providing superior service to internal and external members and promoting member relationships that exceed expectations.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) of cards and all related systems. Represent all card processes and functions in meetings, projects, implementations and new compliance updates or changes.
  • Responsible for managing periodic card campaigns. Work closely with internal teams and vendors to ensure goals are established and deadlines are met.
  • Responsible for the testing of all core system updates related to cards.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex issues with vendors as necessary.
  • Assist departments and branches by responding to inquiries/concerns from members on card performance.
  • Review daily processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Update job procedures and communicate Card Department changes to the organization.
  • Stay current on industry standards and best practices to ensure company programs, policies and procedures are in alignment. Provide Leadership with recommendations to improve card operations and support company initiatives.
  • Responsible for knowing and understanding card processor mandates and the implications of them on our systems and processes. Communicate changes across the organization and ensure proper and timely adherence.
  • Follow the organization’s policies and procedures as well as applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Consistently meet department quality, service and production standards that promote member satisfaction, retention, and expansion.
  • Exhibit support for the organization’s goals, values, initiatives, and cost control.
  • Comply with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other compliance requests and requirements.
  • Follow all safety and security guidelines to properly safeguard member and organization assets.
  • Embrace ongoing education and learn/apply new skills and software applications.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

  • Project management skills
  • Thorough knowledge of Regulation Z, Regulation CC, and Regulation E.
  • Professional, courteous, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and data analysis skills.
  • Strong relationship building, customer service and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Efficient organizational and time management skills with ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to maintain confidences.
  • Pre-employment background review (components include criminal, employment, address, social security number, motor vehicle record, sex offender, and global sanctions).

Education or Formal Training: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in a similar position at a financial institution, preferably in a credit union environment. Prefer experience in various areas of cards (operations, strategy/analytics, reporting).

The starting pay range for this position is $63,000.00-$70,000.00, and final pay rate will be determined based on experience and internal equity factors.

Working Environment/Physical Activities

High volume, fast-paced, dynamic office environment with some travel. Must be able to attend meetings and events outside of regular business hours. The job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers, fax machines and filing cabinets. The position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets. The position requires bending, stooping, or standing as necessary.
