Job Description :


Responsible for leading the credit and loan document functions for all types of bank loans, including developing and monitoring credit best practices, identifying credit risk areas and managing the same, monitoring lending credit behaviors, performing credit analysis, and maintaining the desired credit culture and risk appetite set forth by the Bank Board of Directors.


  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or business
  • Formal accounting and credit analysis training
  • Minimum eight years of bank credit administration or comparable experience
  • Minimum five years leading bank credit operations


  • Advanced knowledge in all lending activities and terminology, including commercial, construction, real estate and consumer loan analysis and processing
  • Advanced knowledge of related state and federal lending and compliance regulations, and bank lending policies
  • Advanced ability to analyze financial statements and tax returns
  • Ability to assist in designing appropriate credit structures for complex and unusual situations
  • Ability to train and lead staff and build consensus
  • Strong skills in using computer systems, including word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Advanced math skills
  • Basic knowledge of bank branch operational procedures and bank’s products/services
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish priorities and communicates those priorities effectively
  • Manages resources effectively


  • Develops and maintains knowledge of lending industry, economy, market conditions, rates, best credit practices, vendors and competition.
  • Provides guidance, supervision, leadership and training to loan officers, credit analysts and other staff members to promote lending activities within the Bank’s desired credit culture and knowledge of current economic and industry trends. Recommends updates to the Bank’s Credit and Loan Policies and disseminates such changes to lending and operations staff.
  • Maintains excellent communications with lending and other staff.
  • Approves loan requests presented by loan officers within a set loan authority and pre-screens loan requests being presented to loan credit committee.
  • Acts as Chairperson and voting member of credit committee; participates in other committees as requested.
  • Manages the loan credit process including loan analysis, origination, closing, review, and monitoring. Develops tools and models to assist with loan portfolio analysis and loan processing.
  • Reviews large and complex loans prior to submission to Credit Committee; makes recommendations on loan structure, terms, pricing and risk rating to mitigate risks to Bank.
  • Performs loan officer, credit analyst, and loan operations duties as required to assist with the Bank portfolio and customer service requirements.
  • Maintains Bank’s desired distribution of credit and manages credit risk of loan portfolio.
  • Monitors and manages concentrations within the Bank’s loan portfolio.
  • Develops procedures to ensure sound bank lending practices are maintained and are tailored to the Bank’s desired lending culture.
  • Ensures compliance and regulatory demands are met, including appropriate loan grading.
  • Corresponds with bank examiners and internal auditors for compliance with regulatory requirements and exams; oversees third-party loan reviews.
  • Monitors, and reports to the Board on, audit findings, loan quality, policy exceptions, and lending activity.
  • Advises on loan loss reserve adequacy.
  • Manages vendor relationships associated with the credit and loan operations functions.
  • Assists with product development and pursues additional profitable opportunities.
  • Provides and reinforces the application of superior customer service and excellent follow through with involved customers and employees.
  • Encourages use of the Bank’s other products and services, referring customers to appropriate staff as indicated.
  • Engages in business development activities and solicitation of new business as requested; actively involved in instilling and maintaining a positive sales environment through utilization of the Bank’s products and services.
  • Attends prospective loan applicant meetings with loan officers and requests specified information related to loan or credit applications needed.
  • Represents the Bank to further enhance the Bank’s image and develop additional business.
  • Directs and coordinates problem loan workouts with lenders, attends problem workout meetings with the borrower, and corresponds with legal counsel and collectors as appropriate to ensure all possible precautionary actions or measures are taken. Oversees collection activity of loan officers.
  • Initiates loan charge-offs and manages the maintenance and sale of other assets owned through foreclosure or repossession.
  • Manages the central loan operation function, including document preparation, loan boarding, collateral lien perfection, tickler management, and file management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 – $180,000.00 per year
