This position is part of PNC’s Tempus Technologies organization. As a member of the newly formed Product Design & Architecture team, this design role is internally focused and embedded in the Product Development Lifecycle, starting with collaboration with the Sales team, near to end of the sales cycle, to demonstrate the feasibility, viability and desirability of proposed solutions

What to expect in this role:

1. In collaboration with Sales BA’s, Product BA’s & Architects, create and present/demonstrate proof of concepts in the form of documentation, presentation, wireframe, or combination.

2. Provide guidance and artifacts during the design and development phase of prototypes.

3. Provide guidance and artifacts to the development or QA teams to aid in testing the design concept, both UI and UX

4. As a member of a multidisciplinary team responsible for translating business, functional and non-functional requirements into technical specifications for developers to code from, you with consult on design decisions being made during the architecture process, as well as create various design artifacts

Due to the nature of the role, we are seeking creative candidates who have experience in building web and digital visual design & content as well as strong UI designs – building initial frameworks, content, & design. Additionally, preferred candidates will have experience working with user workflows, journey maps, mockups, wireframes, and prototypes. Candidates should also have strong analytic and communication skills, as well as the ability to perform research.

Job Description

Supports the transformation of tasks into intuitive, accessible and easy-to-use designs through the entire experience lifecycle, from the first-time user to the expert.

Identifies and discovers customer and business needs through contextual inquiries, and generative and quantitative research, and identify solutions to meet those needs. Makes decisions of significant customer impact from wide array of possibilities, not limited to the Banking Industry.

Executes visual, information, interaction, and service design elements of the initiative that meets business and customer needs and delights customers. Communicates the initiative and product to others (Team Members) through user journeys, storyboards, prototypes, wireframes, and other materials.

Gauges the usability of new and existing products, and make constructive suggestions for change.

Conducts research studies and present findings that will inform improvements in the customer experience.

Requirements Analysis – Knowledge of methods and techniques to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements; ability to analyze these requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

Solutions Development – Knowledge of and the ability to assess customer needs and provide solutions for them.

User Experience Design – Knowledge of user experience design tools, techniques and approaches; ability to design applications that are valued, positively perceived and used by clients.

User Interface Design – Knowledge of activities, practices, deliverables and considerations; ability to design effective graphic user interfaces for delivery of information to the client’s desktop workstation.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 2+ years of relevant professional experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
