Martinswerk GmbH is a company of J.M. Huber Corporation and belongs to the Division of HUBER ENGINEERED MATERIALS, produces at Bergheim site more than 100 chemical specialty products on the basis of aluminum hydroxide, alumina, and UF resins for numerous industrial applications. Nearly 500 people are working with high qualification and experience of over 100 years of customer-oriented solutions.

In this role you will work very closely with the Regional Sales teams, Global Business Managers, the Global Marketing Director and the R&D organization to systemically explore and develop new business opportunities in selected markets/applications. Key tasks are developing target lists, help build relationships with key influencers and decision makers with selected prospects, developing value propositions to successfully penetrate new customers and establishing commercial sales.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities in selected applications/markets and regions, participate in trade shows and industry meetings, track competitor capabilities, capacities, and new activities.
  • Develop global/regional target pipeline and market entry plans and value propositions to successfully enter selected market/applications in close cooperation with Sales, Business Management, Marketing and R&D.
  • Explore functions and contact persons to be contacted at new and existing customers.
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with listed prospects in close collaboration with regional sales teams, ensure close follow-up to establish new business.
  • Collect feedback from VOC/customer meetings, translate customer feedback into technical requirements, re-position and optimize value proposition and address discovered unmet needs.
  • Communicate and align with management on prioritized growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team and other stakeholders translate technical findings into compelling value proposition.
  • Prepare and develop market entry and communication plan.
  • Ultimately drive opportunities until closing and generating first sales in selected markets.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Technical background (e.g. Chemistry or Engineering, minimum Bachelor level) and working experience in B2B environment
  • Ability to perform in a highly technical environment, experience working in the chemical industry or related industries preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement business plans resulting in above average business performance, understanding of requirements analysis, pricing, planning, competitive analysis, sales planning, and commercial strategies
  • Being a self-starter and have proven leadership skills to energize and engage a multi-functional global team of professionals
  • Able to work independently and effectively across functional lines, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and make consequential decisions to reach common goals in the absence of formal authority
  • Team player, listening and understanding customer needs, highly structured approach
  • Excellent communication skills, able to express complicated concepts in a concise manner to support our value proposition and new products introductions, present at customer meetings and communicate at all customer levels
  • Fluent language skills in English, any European language is a plus
  • Proficient in Power Point and Excel
  • Willingness to travel internationally
