Overview
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer: ·
- Monitor and evaluate the existing fund managers in the NYPL endowment portfolio:
- Review manager reports and letters and participates in periodic meetings with investment managers
- Prepare periodic reports on performance, exposure, liquidity, and cash flows
- Perform supplemental research and analytics to help better understand underlying manager strategies and portfolios
- Assist with monthly and quarterly performance reporting
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses of prospective fund managers
- Research, prepare, and write research pieces (with senior team member guidance) on key areas of portfolio diligence, important market trends, and other topics critical to the management of the portfolio
- Assist with other special projects at the asset class or portfolio level
- Develop and maintain relationships with institutional peers and managers to stay informed on investment trends and markets and discover compelling investment opportunities
- Perform other related duties as required
Required Education, Experience & Skills
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, and/or related field
- Two years of relevant work experience in investment management, banking, consulting or other similar area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience with financial modeling skills, including expertise using Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to take initiative and see projects through to completion
- Strong analytical, critical reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of commonly used financial products, capital markets, and investments
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Please Note: Effective August 2, 2021, absent a qualifying exception for medical or religious reasons, newly hired employees of the New York Public Library must present proof of receipt of a COVID-19 vaccination and may not begin employment at the Library until 14 days after their receipt of their second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or 14 days after their first dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
