Reports to –

Job Summary –

Quality specialists are responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and proposing measures to correct or improve a company’s final products and processes to meet established quality standards. They prepare and implement quality assurance policies and procedures and perform routine inspections and quality tests.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities –

· Oversee and assist Quality with programs and processes that assure product meets or exceeds internal and customer standards and regulatory requirements

· Assure QC responsibilities are completed in a timely manner

· Develop an excellent understanding of processing and sequence of event timing involved with manufacturing any given product

· Understand and follow internal SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) / WIs, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practice), HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) 2.0, sanitation, and pest control programs as well as customer operating procedures

· Act as liaison between production and Quality to insure understanding of scheduling and requirements allowing for efficient production and timely release of product

· Working with customers, ensure expectations are being met regarding set up of new products, samples to be sent and release requirements

· Work with release coordinator to ensure that testing is complete and documentation for release is available

· Fully understand the release process and provide back-up coverage for the Release Coordinator, as necessary

· As internal systems are integrated to the site, use expertise to find ways to integrate / replace manual systems with newer, more-efficient IT resources/programs

· Act as the Quality Superuser for SAP processes

· Create and maintain GLIMS MASTR documentation for Quality.

· Working closely with Product Development, provide the Quality review for new / reformulated product formulations prior to finalization for Reckitt products.

· Maintain SAP Quality Master Data and complete new material Master Data set-up and workflows.

· Manage the Stability process for Reckitt products within the GLIMS system.

· Fully understand the Deviation and Consumer complaint process for both Reckitt and non-Reckitt products and act as the back-up administrator for these systems.

· Prepare and set-up documents for daily production for both Blending and Packaging

· Communicate with R&D (Research & Development), Planning, Marketing, etc., about new product development, and coordinate and participate in trial runs of new products

· Assist with training of Quality Programs

· Understand and participate in sensory evaluations

· Assist and back-up lab techs in all areas of responsibility, as necessary

· Provide guidance to lab techs when quality management is not available

· Participate on project teams as requested

Qualifications –

· Candidate should have an excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and be able to engage with personnel to secure information to fulfill job duties

· Become proficient in the use of Reckitt internal systems (GLIMS, SAP, GWINS, Optiva) from the quality perspective and for all functions necessary to complete the responsibilities of the position

· Candidate must have a thorough understanding of Food Safety and HACCP principles

· Position requires the ability to adjust to a flexible schedule as required (I.e., after routine working hours, weekends, potential to be “on-call,” etc.)

· Ability to work with and around laboratory and cleaning chemicals

Education/Experience –

Bachelor’s Degree with science background, or equivalent experience required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
