Job Description :

Bristol Wave Seafoods, LLC (BWS) is actively seeking a recruiter to join our human resources department. BWS operates a fleet of eight longline catcher processor vessels from our corporate headquarters in Seattle. Our vessels operate in the Bering Sea and surrounding regions off the coast of Alaska. This is an FLSA exempt, salaried position with full benefits. This role could range from entry level to manager level, depending on the candidate.

All work will initially be based out of our office in the Lower Queen Anne / Interbay area of Seattle, with the potential for a hybrid remote/office schedule for the right individual.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Maintain local job listings for vessel job openings including deckhands, processors, licensed officers, engineers, and other vacant positions as needed.
  • Screen applicants and maintain an ongoing list of potential candidates.
  • Research locations throughout the US that are optimal for targeted recruiting, using data on unemployment rates, median income levels, etc.
  • Travel throughout the year as needed to conduct job fairs. Approximately 10% travel required.
  • Assist human resources with onboarding, etc.
  • Assist human resources with other priorities as needed.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • FLSA exempt, salary, $60k – $90k DOE. Bi-weekly payroll.
  • PTO: 15 days annually to start, increasing to 20 days after 5 years.
  • 12 paid holidays per year.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ experience working within a human resources department or in a comparable role.
  • Experience within the maritime / commercial fishing industry is a big plus, but not required.
  • Competency with MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a big plus, but not required.
  • Must have good communication skills and be comfortable speaking in a group setting.
  • Must be a team player with a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to multitask.
