Job Description :

Responsibilities:

The position of Senior Tekla draftsman prepares a 3D model of the building using Tekla Structures and prepares shop drawings and erection drawings from the 3D Tekla model and prepares the Material Take Off (MTO) for the building from the 3D Tekla model using Excel. The Senior Tekla draftsman primarily works on large complex one of a kind buildings and checks work of other draftsmen. These buildings typically include the main structure, light gage purlins and girts, metal roofing, metal siding, metal interior finishes, doors, windows and sheet metal trim.

Specifically, this position requires:

• Responsible for full support on executing controls system commissioning and to provide controls support to our customers during commissioning and troubleshooting after installations.
• This position will also provide assistance in the area of product development and product improvement.
• The Senior Tekla Draftsman coordinates and consults with the Engineering Manager and Procurement technicians to complete projects.
• This position answers questions from the fabricator about the shop drawings and revise drawings when required.
• This position answers questions from the erector regarding the erection drawings and revise drawings when required.
• Prepares Sales drawings, Technical Master Plans (TMPs) and/or Anchor Bolt (AB) drawings using AutoCAD.
• This position is work from home.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with sales team, purchasing’ team, construction managers and engineering manager.
• Must be self-motivated to deliver shop drawings, erection drawings and MTO’s in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Must be proficient with Tekla Structures 2021, Trimble Connect (latest edition), AutoCAD LT 2023, and MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• 4 – 7 years of related experience
