The Alaska Satellite Facility is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer with web and/or system application experience to join our team. Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes is preferred but not required. Any experience with automation is preferred but also not required. This position will participate in an Agile software development and testing process ensuring software quality is maintained from a customer requirements and operational support perspective to support processing and archival of a multi-petabyte satellite data archive. ASF serves data products via innovative web applications to scientific users around the world, and we need help ensuring these applications are robust and easy to use. ***US CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION. A Bachelors degree in an information technology, software development, or science research field, or equivalent experience. Three years experience in an IT or remote sensing field.
This position is full-time, Grade 80, term-funded, exempt, 12-month position complete with a competitive salary and UA employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, based on education and experience.
This position will be physically located at the UAF campus in Fairbanks, Alaska. The successful finalist will be expected to report to duty at the UAF office on the first day of employment.
