Supply Chain Operations Manager Position Summary: The Supply Chain Operations Manager will deliver strategic and operational leadership to all aspects of the supply chain and materials, with a particular emphasis on global logistics, inventory reduction, and cost/process. In connection with internal/external design engineering, regional Fimco assembly centers, and outsourced contract manufacturers, the Supply Chain Operations Manager will lead all aspects of sourcing, materials management, cost reduction, and process efficiency. The successful candidate will identify, analyze, and negotiate product commodity business solution opportunities that are consistent with the company’s ambitious growth strategies.

Supply Chain Operations Manager Duties and/or Responsibilities: *

  • Develop international sourcing/supply-chain competence.
  • Effectively consolidate current domestic suppliers base and expand international supplier base to reduce current supplier count by 25%, drive costs down by 5% annually, and achieve a sourcing-driven reduction in inventory of $2M+.
  • Effectively manage timely and cost-effective methods for global inventory control, material sourcing, and supplier quality.
  • Own materials planning and vendor lead time controls and process/supply-chain control for all Fimco locations, suppliers, and outsourced manufacturing partners.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs and cycle times, streamline procedures and create solutions.
  • Ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain according to the master planning schedule; manage inventory at minimum levels. Drive 20% improvement in supplier on-time delivery.
  • Partner with finance/accounting on matters involving inventory carrying costs; developing effective supplier steel hedges, controlling, and managing “pocket price” supplier charges.
  • Ensure that detailed budgets and execution are integrated with sales and operations plans.
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Sales, and outside stakeholders worldwide to resolve and streamline supply-chain issues.
  • Facilitate seamless new product introductions.
  • Partner with Production Control to execute the sales plan and minimize inventory.
  • Strengthen and maintain an initiative-taking, goal-oriented, environment while implementing appropriate processes and disciplines.
  • Function as a single point of contact, guaranteeing that business solutions meet business objectives.
  • Drive usage of ERP systems and processes (own MRP settings safety stock, optimal lot sizes, and supplier lead times).

Supply Chain Operations Manager Experience and/or Education: *

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.
  • Ten years + of supply chain/procurement management experience
  • Ideally with significant background in steel-based manufacturing, multi-plant component or module manufacturing, as well as global logistics, and capacity planning.
  • Strong background in budgeting, scheduling, and vendor management.
  • Experience/familiarity with lean manufacturing is a plus.
  • International experience and language proficiency are strongly preferred.
