Job Description :

POSITION SUMMARY

The X-Ray Technologist performs procedures using x-ray equipment under the supervision of a physician. The position uses beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff. During down time must be comfortable answering phones.

MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL TO TWO SITES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Takes all ordered X-rays and assists in the DXA department when needed.
• Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.
• Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
• Moves equipment into specified position and adjusts equipment controls.
• Obtain patient height and weight, perform scan, analyze and print report for the physician, when working in the DEXA department.
• Prepare chest x-rays to send out to be read.
• Perform necessary quality control, QA and equipment maintenance for ensure proper running of equipment. Place service calls if needed.
• Educate patients regarding densitometry and osteoporosis, when assisting in DXA.
• Take x-rays for drug study patients including labeling, logging and preparing to ship.
• Maintain supply levels, filing, typing, answering phones and other reception functions. Mailing DXAs.

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
